While you all are anxiously waiting for the much-awaited Season Finale, find out some of the latest updates that were dropped down by HBO recently.
Warning: This post may contain spoilers.
When is Season 8 returning?
The final season is set to return on your TV Screens on April 14, 2019. HBO officially confirmed the news at the start of the year making this dreadful waiting period a slight bit easier. We also received a surprise teaser that gave the fans some hints. The show is reported to be aired on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV alongside HBO in both UK and US.
How many Episodes will it have?
According to what we know so far, the final season will consist of six episodes, each one featuring for around 70-90 minutes. Despite the season being short and just six weeks long, the episodes will be monumental with massive content and wars that took days to shoot. Previously, HBO had planned 13 final episodes, which it later converted to two shorter seasons.
There has also been so much gossip about the episodes and their estimated costs. The figures have somewhere been around a whopping $15million for each episode and we are all stunned! Unfortunately, these will also be the last six episodes of Game of Thrones ever, because, after this, no revival would be happening.
Season 8 cast: Who will appear?
The entire lead cast including Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Lena Headey (Cersei), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys), Nikolaj Coaster- Wald au (Jaime), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), Maise Williams (Arya) and Sophie Turner (Sansa) are all set to return for the final season. You wouldn’t believe each was reported to have taken an approx. $1.1m per episode!
Besides, we might see more of Gendry, our favourite dire wolf Ghost, Jaqen H’ghar and flashbacks of Robert Baratheon in the coming episodes.
Any Speculations Regarding the Story?
From the recent teaser, we know that the first episode will open in Winterfell with the Starks welcoming Queen Daenerys. Some of the confrontations between Sansa and the Queen might be displeasing because the latter may not approve her brother bending the knee.
Fans are also anxiously waiting for some reunions that have taken years to come. We’re dying to see Arya and Jon, Jon and Bran, and Tyrion and Jamie reunite to find out what’s in store for them. Also after the intimate gesture between Jon and Daenerys, there has been plenty of speculations over their future together and regarding Jon finding out the truth of him being a Targaryen.
In addition, the grumble between Cersei and Jamie also ended in her betraying Jaime and others over her own selfishness. We’re impatiently waiting for what will be the end of her, and the baby she is carrying.
Lastly, many cast members have revealed intense heartbreak moments over the shoot wrap-ups saying a huge part of their lives will soon end after April 2019. Are you excited too?
